The big advantage of an ottoman storage bed is that it takes up a smaller footprint in the bedroom than a bed frame as the mattress sits directly on top of the base with no surrounding framework. The base can be simply raised with the assistance of the gas lift hinges to reveal a large capacity storage area which is typically 3 times larger than a traditional divan. This model uses gas lift mechanism similar to what is used on a hatch back car, the advantage to this system is that it is much smoother and more controlled than the traditional spring mechanisms.

The headboard and mattress are not included, but can be purchased separately.
