How PayPal Pay in 3 works
If Pay in 3 is available for your order, the application and repayment plan are handled directly by PayPal.

If the order and your PayPal account are eligible, Pay in 3 may appear as one of PayPal's payment choices. PayPal provides the approval decision.
Make three repayments
Your first payment is due when the purchase is made. The next two repayments are then taken automatically over the following two months.

Does Mayfield Furniture decide whether I can use Pay in 3?
No. Pay in 3 is provided by PayPal and PayPal determines eligibility and approval. If Pay in 3 is available for your purchase, it will be offered within the PayPal checkout experience.
Is Pay in 3 interest-free?
PayPal currently describes Pay in 3 as three interest-free repayments and says it does not charge sign-up, application or late fees. Your bank or financial institution may still charge fees in some circumstances, for example if a repayment is returned because of insufficient funds.
When are the payments taken?
The first repayment is due at the time of purchase. The two remaining repayments are normally taken automatically on the same date in each of the following two months. PayPal will show your actual repayment schedule before you agree to the plan.
Will Pay in 3 always appear when I choose PayPal?
Not necessarily. PayPal says availability can depend on the merchant, the goods being purchased, the transaction and the customer's eligibility. Not every application is approved.
Does applying affect my credit score?
PayPal says it may carry out a soft credit search when more information is needed and that the application search itself does not affect your credit score. PayPal may report information about your Pay in 3 loan and repayment history to a credit reference agency, including missed payments.
