Celebrate National Bed Month with Mayfield Furniture’s expert guide to choosing the right bed. Learn when to replace your mattress, how to find the right support, and what to look for before you buy. A few of the key points in the article are grounded in Bed Advice UK guidance: most mattresses begin to lose shape and support after around 7 to 8 years; signs of replacement include sagging, lumps, aches and pains, and better sleep elsewhere; and the right support depends on build and sleeping position rather than firmness alone. Bed Advice UK also recommends trying mattresses in your usual sleep position and says there is no substitute for testing beds in-store.
